TEC GmbH teamed with Headquarters, U.S. Army Europe to provide the Polish Ministry of Defense (PMOD) with a demonstration environmental compliance assessment program. The demonstration included the identification of applicable regulations; protocol development; training Polish auditors; performing a joint assessment at the 15th Mechanized Brigade in Gizycko; and preparing an Overall Project Report and Environmental Compliance Assessment Guide. Project activities involved the review of Polish and European Union environmental regulations, development of 14 assessment protocols, and conduct of the audit at Gizycko using the protocols. The onsite assessment lasted one week and four teams were used to perform the assessment. Each TEC audit team member worked with a PMOD partner as well as a translator during the onsite interviews of base personnel. This effort was successful in initially establishing an Environmental Compliance Assessment Program at the PMOD level.
